"Cheng Shuo" Fuding Wild White Peony Tea Cake (200g)

from $62.00

"Cheng Shuo" is the studio's annual pressed white tea cake. Each year since 2019 they have selected a lot of wild-grown Fuding White Peony (Bai Mudan) and pressed it into 200g cakes, an idea from 2018 that became a continuing series. Choose the current 2025 cake, or the 2019–2024 Collector's Set with one cake from each of six years. Stock of the 2019–2021 cakes is now very small, so the six-year set is issued in limited numbers as a record of how the tea has grown.

Storage: the cakes are kept sealed in a professional temperature- and humidity-controlled tea warehouse in Huizhou, Guangdong.

How white tea changes

  • With age: new white tea is fresh and brisk, with more floral and "ecological" (green, fresh) notes. Over the years the floral and slightly green notes fade, while downy and honey notes grow. The liquor becomes mellower and fuller, and the leaf turns from green to brown.

  • With grade (from the same garden): higher grades have more buds, giving more floral notes and a softer, thicker liquor. Lower grades are richer and more complex, slightly more astringent, but more readily develop jujube and sticky-sweet notes with age.

The collection cakes are graded by year (2019–2020 grade C, 2021 grade B, 2022–2023 grade A, 2024 grade A+), so the set lets you taste both age and grade side by side.

2019–2024 Collector's Set

Six 200g cakes (one per year), sealed together. Each cake is double-wrapped in cake paper and carries its own official production information. The inner layer is thick aluminum foil for light protection, inside a kraft-paper outer bag. The set comes in a gift tin.

Pressed white tea cakes can be enjoyed now or kept to continue aging.

Shipping: Each order is prepared for you after purchase and ships within 1–2 weeks.
